While the men had a SLM board meeting,
we ladies went to check out thrift stores.
Berlin is quite a tourist town.
There were so many eye catching things.
We also attended the Annual Haiti Benefit Auction.
Coleen & I enjoyed watching the quilts sell.
For lunch Coleen and I shared a bowl of this Haitian rice & beans with meat. It was delicious.
There was also a buffet of salad fixed up so unique inside a canoe. The canoe was full of ice with all kinds of salad toppings in containers.
These boys were trying hard to cross a busy street.
We got to visit just a tad with Mitch & Louise.

What a fun town! I love the salad canoe. So nice you were able to enjoy Haitian food. It’s always fun to taste food from other countries, especially prepared by them. Great post. Blessings for a wonderful week.
How do you know Mitch and Louise? We go to the same church in Hartville. It’s a small world!
@cocacolagirl50 - Well, Louise is Elmer & Loretta Bontrager’s daughter from GA that we know; and Mitch is from Romania where we have been a couple times. We escorted his mom to the states back in June. Very interesting.
Ah, the town of Berlin!! I grew up there, attended the elementary school there, and have seen it grow from a sleepy little town to a busy busy place =) Glad you enjoyed my hometown. My parents and brothers actually still live there so I still make my way through there, though I try to wait until evenings or Sundays, cause the traffic can make a 10 min trek from my house to theirs a 30 minute one!

Oh, how I love that town………could spend days in that area. I knew I had to know that lady on the top left corner, but oh my mind drew a blank until I saw her husband and then I knew! Whew, I wasn’t going wacky after all
Looks like fun!
@Izzysgal - Are you talking about Carolyn? How do you know her?
Yes, it’s Carolyn. It was so crazy when I saw her, because I could all most see how she talks and felt like I’ve spent some time with this woman, now who is she? Her son Pat is married to my 1st cousin and her nephew is married to another cousin. That’s how i know her, getting ready for two weddings will do that
It was interesting to me to see pictures of the Clugstons, whom we knew way back when I was a young(er) girl.
