We were to make 2 blocks this month for our Possum Town Quilters drawing. We were to use blue and yellow for one block. I used the “Stack-N-Whack” technique to make a kaleidoscope block. The next block we were to use black & white along with one other color. I chose red.

I’m also working on a baby quilt of puppy dogs for Ashton.

For Christmas our DIL, Sheila ask me to make a fabric postcard for her mom of her homeplace. So, here’s the Joseph Showalter Homeplace, Mole Hill, Dayton, VA.

  • I love that black and red block. If it is a 12″ block, I would love to have the pattern. … :)    I admire your postcard work, but I don’t think I ‘d have the patience for it.

  • That’s going to be a cute puppy dog quilt. Lucky Ashton!

I’m looking forward to seeing the Possum Town quilt.

  • I love the dog quilt!

  • Aunt Julia, any chance a could get a copy of the dog quilt pattern?  They are really cute!  Hailey loves dogs and we’ve been playing around trying to decide what to do for her quilt.  She saw your blocks and really likes them.

  • Sure, Jennifer. I’ll send the magazine along with Aunt Barbara when she comes down here the end of January. It’s “Quiltmaker” Sept/Oct 2000. You may be able to find it on ebay or a thrift store.
