Mother enjoying a Magnolia Cookery Cookbook.
I think Polly was a little nervous giving her presentation.
Here’s Barbara showing two of her quilts.
Coleen made a new quilting friend.
We enjoyed more of the “show & tell” quilts.
Polly, Barbara, and I had a display and presentation at the MS Quilter’s Fall Gathering in Columbus. Mother is sitting there smiling and smiling.
These were some of the Possum Town Quilter’s charity quilts.
These are some “Show & Tell” quilts.
A patriotic quilt shown by Dot & Diane.
Our van was stuffed full to the brim for our ride home.
More later.
This past weekend our church hosted the Southern Mennonite Ministers Fellowship. Our guests for the night were Uncle Enos & Aunt Glennys. He is a brother to my father, Oren.
We also kept Wendell & Naomi. Wendell is their son, my closest cousin in age. We are only 3 days apart.
Nathan & Marlene also stayed with us. He is another cousin, only a little younger and from Oren & Enos’ sister Ida.
On Saturday evening we had in some more guests for pizza. We would have liked to keep them all, but of course that just wasn’t possible. Here’s Joel & Sheila.
They brought Sheila’s friends, Kathryn & Ruth from VA.
Uncle Howard & Aunt Miriam. Miriam is another sister to Father.
Carl, another cousin, and brother to Wendell, & Grace.
Their daughter Karla, married to Jason.
Jason’s parents, Galen & Jeanie.
Wes & Heidi. Wes is another son of Galen & Jeanie.
And their daughter, Vicki with her cousin Dustin, our son.
Our children, Quinten & Evie with Kirby.
And Craig & Angie.
So you can just imagine that our house was just a buzzing. We did have a good time.
Yesterday at out monthly Possum Town Quilters meeting the winners were announced for our challenge Crazy Quilt — Columbus Sights. These ladies, Sue, Brenda, and Annette did a marvelous job. Congratulations to all!
Show and Tell also brought out some nice quilts. Watana made this quilt for Relay for Life.
She sewed a nice label on to the back.
Carolyn made this “Turning 20″ cowboy quilt for a great grandson.
This “String Quilt” is for Habitat for Humanity.
Judy showed her BOM (Block of the Month) quilt that will be for her granddaughter.
While the men had a SLM board meeting,
we ladies went to check out thrift stores.
Berlin is quite a tourist town.
There were so many eye catching things.
We also attended the Annual Haiti Benefit Auction.
Coleen & I enjoyed watching the quilts sell.
For lunch Coleen and I shared a bowl of this Haitian rice & beans with meat. It was delicious.
There was also a buffet of salad fixed up so unique inside a canoe. The canoe was full of ice with all kinds of salad toppings in containers.
These boys were trying hard to cross a busy street.
We got to visit just a tad with Mitch & Louise.
Paul and I recently flew to Charlston, WV where my sister Coleen & Glen picked us up to travel together to OH. We stopped at Williamstown to tour the Fenton Glass factory.
This lady was the featured artist of the month.
We watched a video of the history of the Fenton company and how the glass is made and then toured the museum.
In the gift shop Coleen and I just drooled over the beautiful pieces that could be bought.
It was probably good that it was way too expensive for us!
Somehow I think I need to work these pictures into a quilt!
