Design Wall Monday
Today I have Emily’s airplane quilt on my design wall. She said this is going to be a slow process for her to get the whole alphabet in hanger talk on to this quilt.
And do you remember my “Jacob’s Ladder” quilt from an earlier post here and here? Well, I started quilting it in the center and going out to the edges. I used 2 layers of batting because I wanted it to puff up.
Not good, not good! The more I quilted it the worse it got. Aaarg!
So, … I cut it up and started the layout all over again.
Just look at all the different ways to put the blocks together.
Now I’m to this point and need to keep at it until it is finished. No more changing my mind!!!
So, here’s my Jacob’s Ladder quilt on my “design floor.”

Love this quilty post! I love what Emily is doing with the hanger talk quilt. Her letters are great. Will they be the boarder for the quilt?
Oh my poor Jacob”s Ladder. I could cry for you but am so impressed with your determination and stick to it mentality. Somehow I just know it’s going to turn our just fine. Especially with “George’s” help.
@PollythePatchworker - Hopefully this will be finished befoe “George” arrives. I used the QAYG technique!
That takes determination, but I can see it will be beautiful.
At first I saw nothing wrong, but when you laid different ideas out, they were all much more appealing than the first. Emily, instead of trying to use the enire alphabet, just use those that represent the name of the person that is going to receive the quilt.
Actually I like the one with all the jets headed up. Emily, if you want to use the entire alphabet, some could be much smaller and laid in sideways alongside the larger ones in a border.
