  • Wenchuan Quake -- Quilt

    IMG_8714

This quilt came about because of the earthquake in China on May 12, 2008 that registered 7.9 on the richter scale. The epicenter was in the town of Wenchuan about 50 miles from where my niece www.xanga.com/gixergurl was in Chengdu. She was in a supermarket riding down an escalator and she heard rumbling and people started screaming. The escalator above her was swaying back and forth. In Wenchuan, our friends children were home in their apartment. They described the earthquake as if your house was put onto a gigantic skateboard and drug down the road at 30-40 mph. It got dark because of all the dust in the air and was a while before it settled.

Earlier this year the youth girls had a bridal shower for Angie.

They had 2 teams that made wedding dresses. One for me and one for Angie. I felt very "clutzy." And Angie looked so nice and sleek and slim.

  • Possum Town Quilter's Meeting

I had a nice meeting today with the Possum Town Quilters. Here are some quilts that were shown for "Show & Tell."

Watana made a "Stack & Whack" quilt. All the stars were made from only one fabric; the fabric that she used for the border.
