Today Kirby & I enjoyed a Root Beer float together.
You see, we went to an 80th Surprise Birthday Party
for Marie Mast. Her sister Anna Mae smiles beside her.
Our Annual Pancake Supper is history for another year. Craig & Andrew getting ready for the crowd of 700+ guests.
Elmina mixes pancake batter.
Jeannie stirs the gravy.
Rhoda mixes the drink.
The first guests are arriving.
Paul and I made the “blankets” while Donna placed a “pig” inside for “Pigs in a Blanket.”
When the lines slowed down I just had to “write” my Valentine’s name!!!!
Karla & Bethany at the drink table.
We were so blessed to all be together at one time and I cherish this picture of “Mother & her girls.”
Last week I enjoyed taking care of grandchildren. I bought this bubble gum machine at a thrift shop and thought it would make a good marble machine. Now the marbles are just a little too small and I need to look for bigger balls.
Ashton & Kirby enjoy playing in my fabric closet.
Smiling little Stacy is growing up way too fast.
We are glad to have tiny Georgiana home and over for a visit.
We’ve been home now for a while trying to catch up from being gone. One project I worked on while we were together was this top that I call “The Garden of Eden.” Can you see 2 snakes? How about some trees? A red tree? A red apple tree? And then good & evil? Black & White?
Can you believe this is the same “Claire Bleu” that sat beside me at sewing retreat? She’s so creative!
Paul & I spent a few days in Florida. Here Coleen flies with the sea gulls!
Dagwood & Blondie, my favorite comic strip.
“Give the girl a twirl!”
I like the bright colors on this quilt that was auctioned at the HBA for Haiti relief. It would make a wonderful addition to a child’s bed.
This was another beautiful quilt that caught my attention.
We stopped in to visit with TH. He is one happy daddy and on fire for the Lord.
He loaded us up with fresh grapefruit. I hated to take so many; but now that I’m home and have tasted them I wish I’d have accepted more like he wanted me to.
I learned some new doodles from Claire Bleu as we drove home.
We had a wonderful time at our homeplace with lots of family and friends for the last 10 days. Visit my sister Polly’s blog for more details of our time together.
We enjoyed reading out loud from the book “Vera’s Journey” after our brunches. On Sunday afternoon we took a drive and went to see some of the places that Grandmother Vera lived and places that are mentioned in the book. Here is Great, great, great grandpa Daniel Pennybaker Showalter’s place on Snapps Creek.
This is the house that her papa, Roy Early built when she was young.
This is where Ralph, her husband grew up in the early 1900′s.
After Ralph & Vera were married they built this house and barn. I remember going there as a youngster to visit Uncle Enos’ and my cousins.
And this is what used to be the school house where Ralph & Vera walked together to school.
Please check out Sheila’s blog, for an update on little Georgiana.
Paul and I are grandparents again. This time to a very tiny little girl. Georgiana was born Jan. 4 and weighed 2 lb. 6 oz. to Joel & Sheila. She is doing very well for being 2 months early and just needs to grow a bit before she can come home from the hospital.
