After going to my nephew’s wedding in VA, Paul & I and Barbara & Terry
went on up into PA & NY for a short trip. I had read “Vera’s Journey” about my Grandmother and wanted to visit the gorge at Watkins Glen, NY
where she and Grandfather went on their honeymoon in 1926.
These pictures just don’t do justice to the beauty of the place.
This was a nice hike up and down steps and walkways, so the water from the rock was very refreshing.
That ice cream was so good and luscious after our 4 mile hike.
We also visited the Corning Glass Museum in New York.
This man is demonstrating and making a goblet. He had to start over 2 times!
We watched a demonstration on how light travels through optic fibers.
This was an interesting display and showed pictures that were not projected on a screen but out in the middle of the room. It was like you could walk right into the picture.
And of course, I had to get a picture of Barbara looking at this piece of glass designed like a quilt.
The souvenir shop was full of beautiful glass.
I love the color.
On our drive home we stopped to see the artwork of this man doing carving with a chain saw.

Just before we got back to Harrisonburg on 81, who should be traveling down the same highway but our friends from Meigs, GA, Merv & Marion Hoover.
