  • Possum Town Quilter’s Meeting

I had a nice meeting today with the Possum Town Quilters. Here are some quilts that were shown for “Show & Tell.”

Watana made a “Stack & Whack” quilt. All the stars were made from only one fabric; the fabric that she used for the border.

Sharon shows her Japanese Sachiko that she’s planning to enter into a show.

Judy won these blocks and put them together for a quilt for one of her grandchildren.

Annette shows us some pieces that she hand dyed and worked with thread. She wants to give us a class on these techniques. Won’t that be fun!

These last 2 quilts are some of what our guild has made for chairity.

  • Julia I like the name of your guild. “Possum Town Quilters” Reminds me of a road on the outskirts of Greenwood called “Coon Den Road”. Where do they come up with these names.
This week I got a call from grandson Grant Matthew. He said, “Grandma are you making me my blanket?” It just so happened that on that day I had spent about 2 hours sewing those puff squares together. I was able to say, “Yes Grant I’m working on it. Can you come and pick it up?” He said, “Just a minute Grandma.” I heard him asking Israel, “Dad can we go to grandma’s and get my quilt?” He’s such a sweetie pie. So today I have spent most of my day sewing and sewing puffs together. It surely is not my favorite piece to sew but it is well worth it just knowing Grant can’t wait till I finish. Jessica had put one together for Shad years ago and had started on Grant’s but life just got to busy for her. The last time I was in Mich. I told her I would bring it home and finish it up. I’ll be glad to get this one done.

  • My, my, what busy ladies! I’d rather have dirt under my finger nails! (from working in the yard!)

  • Beautiful quilts.  My pick is the “Stack and Whack”.  My grandma is a real quilter but me, well, all i’ve ever done is a few stiches.  It’s not really up my alley.  But I really do like knotting comforts.  The quilt Sheila made for Kirby is just darling!!  I really liked it!  Hey, I just thought I’d let you know about a quilt you might like to see.  It is posted on a cooking site that my cousin’s wife has.  Here is the link to the site.  The quilt is posted on the some entry as the layered finger jello.  http://www.kitchenscrapbook.com/
